I n the heart of the garden of France, le PRINCE JARDINIER draws his inspiration
from the magnificent alleys of the castle of la BOURDAISIERE.
Along the road of the Loire wines, the beauty of Renaissance architecture and the kitchen garden from the XIXth century are an ideal setting for the brand consecrated to the art of living in the country side.
The castle of la Bourdaisière is located in Montlouis sur Loire in Touraine (37). The region, very touristic, is classified by UNESCO as World Patrimony. The neighbouring castles are famous world wide (Amboise, Chenonceau, Villandry, Chaumont.)
A Historical Past
The castle of la Bourdaisière, built by François Ier on a citadel from the XIVth century for the beautiful Marie Gaudin, is a unique place in Val de Loire. Leonard of Vinci drew the Italian door, a superb garden ornament today. A residence for enjoyment and pleasures, the castle is home to the love affair between Henri IV and Gabrielle d'Estrée and undergoes several arrangements in the XVIIth century. Its successive owners are all prestigious. They include le Marquis de Crévecoeur, le Prince Pignatelli, le Prince archevêque de Furstenberg, le Duc de Choiseul, la Duchesse d'Orléans, les Barons d'Angeller.

Since 1991, the Princes Philippe Maurice and Louis Albert de Broglie own this place scheduled as a place of historic interest. They have restored the castle with respect to the original architecture and are attentive to promote
its History by the public.
A Place Open to the Public
The castle is visited annually by more than 50.000 people coming from around the world to admire its gardens and architecture. A 3 star hotel is located in the garden and its dependencies. Twenty luxuriously arranged rooms are available from 1 March to 1 December, as well as a swimming pool and tennis courts. Reception rooms are also available for seminaries.
Exhibitions and annual shows draw each year numerous visitors:La fête des plantes and Le Festival de la Tomate.
The National Conservatoire of Tomato
This unique collection in the world, created by Louis Albert de Broglie in 1998, brings together 650 varieties of tomatoes, offering a unique panorama of this fruit with unsuspected riches. The idea germinated during trips in India and Asia, wherefrom the first seeds were brought back.

Collectioneurs and botanical gardens from the whole world have then enriched the conservatoire. Round, long or forming a heart, black, green or yellow, these old tomatoes have surprising names: Ten Fingers of Naples, Red from Irak, Erika from Australia, Cornute from the Andes.

By bringing forth the natural wealth of our planet, Louis Albert de Broglie aims at allowing a very large public to look, understand and learn the stakes of preserving this biodiversity in order to transmit to future generations the essential foundations of the survival of species.
